History

HaHistory of DHWANI goes parallel to history of speech & hearing unit of ENT Department of  S.C.B Medical college & Hospital ,Cuttack-7,Odisha,India. It got started during the month of March 1982 with a basic portable Pure Tone Audiometer, Ear mould lab, Hearing Aids & speech therapy materials. In the year 1997 we introduced the Impedance Audiometer (1st in Odisha in private set up). After 2007 we added BERA, OAE’S & Spirometry to our diagnostic armamentarium.

• Now we have a state of the art diagnostic setup with sound treated two rooms facilities of of our own with five audiologists & one speech & hearing assistant working in the centre. Internship facility is also available in both the centers

                    NAME: Our name Dhwani (DHWANI -THE SPEECH) implies the speech sound of millions on earth & our effort in ratifying the speech chain. MOTTO: Our motto is “Hear for sure” which implies, when the speech chain is reestablished both hearing & speech are equally effective. ANNUAL FUNCTION: 3rd December is the world Disability Day, which is observed in our centre every year with the able participation of staffs, students & parents of o ur speech therapy centre.
